Epidural or not to epidural

Talked to quite a few of mothers, also heard quite a lot of stories about labor..below are the summary:-

1) One of my church good friend - being preganant is quite tiring and tough period, if there is something that can totally remove the pain, why not just pampet yourself.

2) One of my colleagues - 1st baby normally contraction is long and painful. Can try without epidural when you go for 2nd or 3rd child. First one, try epidural.

3) Another of my colleagues - I used all 3 pain relief methods, end up also pain and got side effects during the labor.

4) My pastor's wife - Can even read story book during the contraction. When dilation was 10cm, still don't feel like stopping the reading. Mummy should save the energy to take care of the baby rather than spending the energy for 10 hours plus for the labor.

5) Hospital nurse - 1st one process last longer and normally very hard to tolerate..so, try epidural for the 1st labor.

6) One of my christian friend - if really want, get it right from the beginning..else, if wait till you can't "tahan", it's too late and you already suffer the pain..

7) My hubby - after sharing with him, he encourages me to have epidural..

8) My sister - gave birth to 3 baby boys without epidural..the feeling were unbearable and half way wanted to give up

My decision...still praying and unsure..wait till nearer to the EDD than decide.

Now, I can feel strongly the movement of Qi Zhen..sometime, in the evening when I am resing in my bed, I can see the baby movement on the belly..very interesting..some she just stick to the wall of the uterus and I can feel that she is leaning there..but not sure whether it is head, buttock or which part of her body..Amazing, when daddy talking to her..she seems like responded to him..can feel the movement even more frequent..very very excited to have her in our family... : )

Triplets

Finally, the 2 babies can be sent home next week..they are growing well..my mum in-law will be in Singapore for CNY. Pity my father in-law..don't know how he can survive without my mum in-law during CNY.

As for us..would be bored too..no good and delicious food to eat during this CNY..most probably would stay in Singapore for most of the days.

So if you want to visit me for CNY, you are more welcome..but remember to bring mandarin oranges...

My trip to Bangkok-Pattaya

7 Jan - Departed at night. Reached Bangkok International Airport midnight..Tour Guide is a slim and pretty lady. 9 of us from Singapore, stayed in 2 different hotels.. We stay in Bangkok Palace. Near Prathunam market. 1 night was terrible. We were allocated to a room near highway..very very noisy at night..worse still..the cold water tab spoilt..totally bath with very very hot water...really terrible..

8 Jan - Went floating market and tiger zoo..the floating market is dieing soon..so go before it total dead..bought a bunch of banana..After that proceed to Tiger zoo..tiger in a cage with pig and dog..I think they are blurred and confused with their identity..not sure whether they are tiger, pig or dog..all mix up..the small tiger even suck milk from a female pig openly..everyone was astonished and shocked even though already seen it in the tv..you can pay a few dollars to have a picture with baby tiger..feeding the baby tiger with a milk bottle..it was interesting.


9 Jan - Went to Noong Nooch village..watched the cultural Thai Dance and elephant show..the dance costumes are beautiful and the Thai dance is very differnt from other races dance..the elephant show..a bit different from Chiangmai one..more interesting..it's goood to bring kids along the trip..surely they will enjoy and learning points. Finally reached Pattaya hotel..Caesar Palace..near the beach..enjoy shopping at night..also went out to see their night life..but refused to watch the Agua Show..reason..we don't want to support the industry.
10 Jan - went to dream world..I love the Love Garden..enjoy all the games there..cable car...floating boat..round boat..the super splash is interesting but you definitely will get wet. They have snow house too..but we went to Malacca one when we were in Secondary school..so didn't go in..heard it was very cold and you won't be able to last for 10 minutes..because no glove is given..At night, went back to Bangkok..dinner at SuanLum market..the hawker centre is interesting..many food stalls..can get chinese, thai, vietnam, japanese..etc also got a live band with performance..After dinner went to shop again...quite a lot of wooden stuff there...if you need to get decorating stuff..here is the best place..

11 Jan - 1 day free time..morning went Prathunam market and the newly openned Platinum Fashion Mall..clothes, shoes, bags etc are really cheap and nice here..you can shop for whole day and don't feel enough. At night, went MBK to have dinner..coming back the taxi driver almost send us to wrong hotel..forgotten to bring the hotel map..after short prayer..the taxi driver suddenly know where we want to go..amazing..!

12 Jan - Hubby was too tire to walk..also all Thai baht already finished... so decided to stay in the hotel and rest until 1pm..Good bye Bangkok...we reached Changi at about 7.45pm..Home sweet Home....

Surprisingly, I can walk longer than my hubby though I am abt 6 months pregnant..walk for about 10km (in total) but every night no leg cramp..thank God for answering my prayer and protected us through out the trip..it was really wonderful and unforgetable trip..hubby said we will come back to shop again soon : ) He bought 10 shirts and 4 pairs of shoes for himself...very fruitful trip to him..as for me, not much because of preganantcy...can see and can not buy..only buy a few..

Yesterday, went to Binjai Park for lunch, it was a Perankan Restaurant, Ivins Restaurant. 5 of us, my mum, sister, my niece and her friend. We ate till we could not take in anymore..and it cost less than $50..what's more..charged to UOB card, everyone was given a free dessert..yummy..yummy..!
My mum went home after the lunch..she was happy..the rest of us went to Chinatown to shop..we went to People's Park, shopped at CK, and other shops..it was raining but it did not stop us from shopping..my niece bought a lot of stuff..
After that went home for curtain provider..the curtains are beautiful..now my flat are curtained...
Went to Tiong Bahru for Sakae Sushi..also not very expensive..5 of us..only pay $50 plus..with credit card discount ..hee..hee.
Now I am at Changi Airport, waiting for boarding...opps...got to go already...flying to bangkok by SK972...see you..

Holiday mood !

Actually I know daughter is definitely better than son, but being an oriental lady, I still prefer the 1st child is a boy..then it would be less streeful for 2nd or 3rd child. But if really I have only 1 child, of course I would prefer a daughter..anyway, everything is on God's hands..Now I have to convince myself that daughter is the best in my life...and I believe God will proof to me that daughter is the best to my marriage and family...not sure I will have 2nd or 3rd kid or not..no matter how, God is still very good to my marriage and family..Praise Him!

My sister and her kids, and most probably my mum will visit me tonight and tomorrow..already taken leave. After that I will fly off to Bangkok with my hubby..this would be our last honey moon..in future..we will have Qizhen to join us in our family..very excited and look forward to her arrival in May 06.

Yesterday attended the antinatal class..the nurse really encourage 1st timer to use Epidural..accordingly no side effect to baby and mum..but there is still risk..now a bit confuse..don't know what to take..will pray hard for smooth delivery..no pain no baby..according to her.. : )

Very emotional..feel crying whenever thought of unhappiness..also because the class..make me worry about the labour process..I know I won't die but still not sure whether I am able to handle the situation or not..must pray hard for my mood swing too..

Yesterday

Yesterday, for the first time, I felt that Qizhen was playing with me..I tried searching for her..I can felt that certain part of the tummy was extremely hard...I pat her repeatedly and it disappered..after short while..I tried searching for her again..once again..something hard on my tummy...I pat it again..and it disappeared..I knew it was her trying to reach me..I guessed she can feel that I was having fun with her..the feeling was fantastic and amazing..only mother would understand what I meant...hee..hee..

Now, about 21 weeks, once a while I would feel the tummy has movement, but not very sure whether it was "baby kicking" mentioned by most mummy..well, I would have a few months to experience it : )
